  • Vertonghen Fan Preview Season 2012-13: Tottenham Hotspur by @Bhav710

    Posted on by admin

@Bhav710 is both a banker and a Spurs fan and you can’t get more unpopular than that! He talks to us about the season ahead for a new look side with a new manager at the helm…

Only one place to start, Spurs have been linked with a lot of players, how do you think the window has been for Tottenham so far?

It’s been extremely surreal. I knew there was rumours of changes but with Harry going and AvB in I thought there would be more business than usual and also a targeted strategy. Unfortunately it seems like the same old spurs except with a new manager in charge, actually this is typical spurs.

But you have bought some players in, which signing are you most excited by?

Vertonghen – the boy looks class

And the one that got away?

    Probably any decent striker

Anyone that you’re surprised is still at the club?

Modric – seems to have come into training today which is great although the rest of the team is in the US. He was never good at getting anywhere on time.

That’s very kind of him, he’ll be going this time thought right?

Yes definitely unless Levy holds him to ransom in some bunker in Eastern Europe. Madrid bound I reckon.

Who’ll be the signing of the season in the Premier League?

Oscar at Chelsea will be immense.

    Biggest flop?

Anyone signed by Liverpool They have a habit of turning good players into Sunday league standard players e.g. Carroll.

If you could change one thing about Spurs what would it be?

I’d change our weak mentality – we just don’t have that killer / winning mentality.

If you could have any player from any team in world football at White Hart Lane who would you take and why?

Tough one but I think Benzema just because we need a top striker and he could fit in well.

What are your aspirations for Spurs this season?

Decent cup run and to challenge for a top 4 place

Being realistic what would you consider as success for this season?

Top 6 and semi-finals of the FA Cup

In your mind, what has to happen for Spurs to deliver the season you hope for?

We need a top class striker and a replacement for modric  to be signed

Name one thing that AVB will say in a press conference this coming season?

If things go wrong I reckon AvB will go mental and start screaming random words to the press

Let’s have some predictions, who do you think will win the title?

City – spent millions and will spend some more. Plus they have won their first title and that will breed more confidence. I think they’ll win the FA Cup as well.

Your top 4 in order please….

    City, United, Chelsea and Arsenal

Which club who do you think could do worse than people think?

    Liverpool

Always a hard one to predict but who will win the Champions League?

    Real Madrid

Who do you fancy for player of the season?

    Hazard

There are plenty of new managers in place this season including your own, who do you think will be the most successful?

AvB if it all clicks into place

The first managerial casualty to be relieved of their duties (With immediate effect)?

Rogers – they are an impatient bunch at Liverpool.

Are you in the Ronaldo or Messi camp?

    Ronaldo

Finally what’s the most ridiculous thing Mario Balotelli will do this season?

Find God and repent for all his sins before arriving at the training ground in a great white whale declaring he is the king.
