Who Next For The Hot Seat At WHL?

With Harry gone under strange circumstances, one day twitter goes mad with reports of him resigning, and the next day he is sacked after Harry came out on ESPN claiming the reports were rubbish. Goes to show, you can never trust Harry.  One thing is for sure, he is consistent which can also be said about Spurs under his tenure.

After the first season Spurs have always finished 5th or better and he leaves as the longest serving Spurs manager since Terry Venables which under trigger happy Levy is a good achievement.

“Maybe if things start badly Levy might bring Harry back to steady the ship and we can go back to the same cycle with Spurs”

With Harry now enjoying the Euro’s and appearing on ITV, BBC, ESPN, Sky Sports, Hollyoaks, Eastenders, adverts for Betfair and special guest appearances on Neighbours, Dancing on Ice, Million Pound Drop, Deal or No Deal and any TV show which he can slip into we should definitely be seeing more of him as the Spurs job proved to hinder his self promotion and ruthless drive to Hollywood to take part in the new Ridley Scott movie.

Enough though about Harry. Who next for Spurs? Well the list changes daily depending on which paper you read but the shortlist is as follows:

David Moyes

Premiership experience and doing a great job at Everton. Ready for a club where attacking football is a must and fans who are even more demanding than the Everton faithful? My opinion? no chance, even Levy isn’t that delusional that he’d hire someone who’d be under fire from day 1 and unlikely to mould a team capable of playing the type of football WHL expects.

AvB

Oh yes the man who was hated by the whole of the Chelsea dressing room. Who relegated Frank to the bench and made Terry slow overnight. He had his limitations but was given the task of making Chelsea an exciting team capable of playing football like Barca. Well he failed miserable and up stepped Roberto who delivered the CL and FA cup playing some of the most attacking breath-taking football the world has seen. Good enough for Spurs? Who knows but he will be considered for his work with Porto and also comes highly recommended by the Special One.

Fabio Capello

Here is a coach who before the England job had an impressive CV. Seria A titles, La Liga, CL and numerous cups. Unpopular during his England tenure but still a decent win ratio. Could he do a job at Spurs? Maybe re-introduce the Capello index and rank players for all to see. Probably too old but proven winner and might want a chance to finish on a high in England. Doubtful but still a chance.

Laurent Blanc

Impressive coach who did well at Bordeaux and with the French national team. Outside choice but plays decent football. Could he be tempted? Who knows but he can’t be ruled out. Levy has hired a French manager before in Santini. That was a failure but one can argue Blanc has the experience of playing in England and can speak the language better so who knows?

Didier Deschamps

Another interesting outside choice. One who might see this as a good challenge to test himself in the PL. Done a decent job at Marseille and in the final year of his contract so who knows.

Pep Guardiola

Dream choice. Could he be tempted? No chance but he is available for no compensation and wants a challenge. New training facilities, youngish squad, less pressure than Barca and a new stadium on the way. Would be a world class coach but pure fantasy at this stage.

So there we have the main contenders for the vacant role. Maybe if things start badly Levy might bring Harry back to steady the ship and we can go back to the same cycle with Spurs. Alternatively Levy might get the right man and Spurs push on to great things. Who knows but come August we’ll have a better idea of how Spurs will start the season and the odds of success.
